And then the girl pulls us her dress a bit to show her legs. Then she says, “If each of you gentlemen will give me £10.00, I’ll show you my thighs,” and men being what they are, they all pull out a ten pound notel. The girl pulls up her dress all the way to her legs in full.

Conversation continues, and the men, a bit excited, have all taken off their coats.

Then the young girl says, “If you will give me £100, I will show you where I was operated on for appendicitis.”

All three fork over the money. The girl then turned to the window and points outside at a building they’re passing. “See there in the distance. That’s the hospital where I had it done!”

The Stages Of Mother

Here is a presentation of what we all think about our mother, at different points of our lives. Don’t get surprised because we all have the same tendency towards our mothers!

4 Years Of Age - My Mommy can do anything;

8 Years Of Age - My Mom knows a lot! A whole lot

12 Years Of Age - My Mother doesn’t really know quite everything.

14 Years Of Age - Naturally, Mother doesn’t know that, either

16 Years Of Age - Mother? She’s hopelessly old-fashioned

18 Years Of Age - That old woman? She’s way out of date

25 Years Of Age - Well, she might know a little bit about it

35 Years Of Age - Before we decide, let’s get Mom’s opinion

45 Years Of Age - Wonder what Mom would have thought about it

65 Years Of Age - Wish, I could talk it over with Mom

Cassette Photos..

Most of us discard cassette tapes when we are through with them,I found someone who turns them into work of art. He has created portraits of well-known musicians such as Michael Jackson from recycled cassette tapes.

Impressive result from a self-taught artist, can you learn art? so unique

Foodborne diseases are the illnesses contracted from eating contaminated food or beverages. Symptoms of foodborne illness range from mild gastroenteritis to life-threatening neurologic, hepatic, and renal syndromes. Botulism, Escherichia coli, Listeriosis, Salmonellosis, are some common examples of foodborne diseases microbe and there are found everywhere. They enter our body system through foods, air we breath and also water we consume. Thus, clean and safe of the food should play an important role in our daily life. For the choux pastry, please refer to my the recipe here. For the durian fillings, this is my own "secret recipi".

Durian Fillings

Ingredients:
200g of whipping cream
200g of durian pulps
10gof gelatine powder
3 table spoon of milk

Procedures:
1. Whip up whipping cream to a soft peak.
2. Add in durian pulps and mix well.
3. Dissolve gelatin powder into milk and mix with mixture from previous step.
4. Put fillings in a piping bag and pipe it out into the baked choux pastry.

The Muted Cry: stories of working children

What’s with me lately that I seem to be drawn into reading depressing books?  “The Muted Cry: stories of working children.''
I must clarify that a disturbing or depressing book does not equate to bad book. On the contrary, these disturbing and depressing books I’ve been reading lately were very well written and they deeply touched sensitivities that I didn’t even know I have before reading these books.
That clarification is important especially because The Muted Cry, which was commissioned by the International Labour Office, was edited by no less than our good friend Loree Cruz-Mante. Loree and her husband James are dear friends to me and my xGF and I can swear to Loree’s book writing (and editing) prowess.
I usually devour a book once I get started with it. I couldn’t do that with The Muted Cry. I feel so bad for those hapless children whose stories were compiled and narrated in the book that I could manage only a story at a time, 2 at most.
It is an eye opener, and I hope more people can get to read this book. The Philippines is one of the countries whose child labor situation is so dire. Surely, something can and must be done about it and soon.

Fridge is haven for microbes...

Foods are stored in a fridge to ensure they stay fresh longer. This is possible because the growth of many microorganisms are inhibited at temperature below 7°C. However, that does not stop them from reproducing or forming spores. The lower the temperature, the longer it will take for food to spoil.

Food is an active vehicles; therefore, microorganisms around us linger on the food, especially for pre-prepared/pre-packaged food such as salad, sushi, cold dessert, sashimi and etc. Microorganisms linger on them might find difficulty to survive; however, they can form spore to continue their survivals in the fridge.

Hmm..how actually microbes growth in fridge??
Do you know that, the action of opening and closing the fridge door,  it can raise the fridge temperature by 5°C or more. It needs 2 hours or more to recover back to the adjusted temperature. In addition, most modern freezers are ‘frost free’ ie. The cooling coils in the refrigerator are periodically heated up to prevent frost from forming on them. As such, the defrost cycle can increase the temperature of freezer from -18°C to -10°C.

Leftover food might sometimes be stored together with fresh food. This will lead to cross contamination. There is a risk of food poisoning if microorganisms from uncooked food are transferred to cooked food through dripping if it is placed above it. Moreover, Some people put in any food into refrigerator which leads to overstuffing. This affects the cold air circulation of refrigerator which in turn provide warmth for mesophiles to grow inside.

A kind of bacteria know as psychrophiles, they can characterized by lipid cell membranes chemically resistant to the stiffening caused by extreme cold, and often create protein 'antifreezes' to keep liquid and protect their DNA even in temperatures below water's freezing point. their internal space and thus they survive. For more details, please refer to here.

On the other hand, psychrophilic bacteria are adapted to their cool environment by having largely unsaturated fatty acids or polyunsaturated fatty acids in their plasma membranes. Unsaturated fatty acids remain liquid at low thermal transition stage and low temperature. For further information, please visit this link.

Whether fatty acids in a membrane are in a liquid or a solid phase affects the fluidity of the membrane, which directly affects its ability to function. However, psychrophiles have enzymes that continue to function, albeit at a reduced rate, at temperatures at or near 0°C. They have also cold-adapted enzymes to adjust themselves in cold environment.

So, on the whole, please don't think that food storing in the fridge is 100% safe....

Green Job

What is Green Job??

Today, i wanna share to public what is 'Green Job'. Green jobs is based on sustainability concepts and often around cutting edge, high technology equipment. A green job is one that helps bring about and maintain a transition to environmentally sustainable forms of production and consumption. For example architect helping design energy efficient building, a rural women practicing sustainable farming, or a plumber is installing water recycling system since they are part of the change required to the green economy.
It's created to find solutions for energy technology revolution. In order to put on work in the country there is dire need of green color jobs opportunities. the auto industry made recycling material green products and all the green collar workers are bound to eco-innovarion techniques in a world where people are getting conscious about the green collar economy. tThe world is contently changing its diections and there is a great change in it environment every other day.
Every job has the potential to be green job if it redefines business as usual in favor of more sustainable practices. Thus, I hope that after reading this, public raise the awareness about new jobs in this field and inspire change in existing job such as that the economy as a whole is moving towards a sustainable future.
